Our mission, therefore, is to wield that power wisely - to use sport as an instrument of progress, conveying messages that empower, values that elevate, principles that educate, and ideals that build lasting peace.
To reach these ends, we have cultivated a dynamic network of experts and volunteers ranging from coaches and players to university professors and physicians, all of whom share our commitment to impact communities around the world through sport. Since 1992, ranging across all of the sports programs we've implemented in 65 countries, we have learned valuable lessons about building meaningful cross-cultural relationships.

When tens of thousands of people live in the largest refugee and IDP camp in Pakistan without even the most basic necessities, we believe sport is a lifeline that allows people to be educated about hygiene and health.

Basketball is empowering women and girls in the Arabian Peninsula. This is an area where few sports options are open to girls and many are discouraged from even basic fitness participation -- but basketball is changing this.

In Iraq, we spent two years developing an adaptive sports camp for kids with disabilities, many who were recovering from injuries sustained during the Iraq war. Beginning in 2010, we trained a dozen coaches who are continuing to develop programs all over Iraq. For youth living with disabilities in war torn countries, like Iraq, adaptive sports camps give them the confidence and skills that can elevate their lives.
Lasting impact: Train-the-trainers program, mentored volunteers are continuing this work today.

Friendly football (soccer) competition and teamwork bring together Arab and Jewish youth in Israel, building bridges for conflict resolution and peacebuilding.
